Gov. Bobby Jindal's office has announced two appointments to the St. Bernard
Parish Port Commission.
In a news release late Thursday, Jindal said Bradley Cantrell of St. Bernard
and Charles Reppel Sr. of Chalmette had been appointed to the board.
Reppel, a former chief aide to former St. Bernard Parish President Henry
"Junior'' Rodriguez, has been on the board for several years. He is the
director of operations/marketing for the St. Bernard Port, Harbor and
Terminal District and will be reappointed to the board to serve as a nominee
of the parish's legislative delegation, the news release said.
Cantrell is the owner and president of BJC Construction, Inc. Cantrell will
also serve as a nominee of the parish's legislative delegation, the news
release said.
According to statute, the St. Bernard Port Commission is comprised of 5
members selected from nominations submitted by St. Bernard Parish's
legislative delegation, subject to Senate confirmation, the governor's news
release said.
