The Florida Avenue bridge is opened for vehicular traffic Tuesday morning
when the Orleans Levee District opened the floodgates leading to the bridge.
Traffic curfews are suspended for the rest of Tuesday to allow for the
backlog of marine traffic to re-enter the canal. In preparation for the
storm, vessels were required to vacate the canal. Veterans Day is Wednesday
and is a Federal Holiday and there are no curfews in effect on holidays.
Normal bridge curfews will be in effect beginning in the morning on
Thursday, November 12th.
