St. Bernard Parish Government urges residents to not travel unless it is
absolutely necessary.

St. Bernard Parish President Craig P. Taffaro, Jr. has called for all St.
Bernard Residents to heed the National Weather Service warnings of localized
street flooding.

President Taffaro is encouraging all residents to stay in place and to limit
travel due to the street flooding that is being experienced within St.
Bernard Parish at this time.

If you must travel, it is recommended that you use St. Bernard Highway.

Wakes are being caused by vehicular traffic and it could make the situation
worse for residents of the the lowest lying areas. Please be aware of the
flooding and limit all vehicular traffic at this time.

All of the drainage pumps are working at this time, and due to an expected
break in the weather, it is expected that the pumps will be able to catch up
to the rainfall levels after 8pm tonight.
