Grand Opening Monday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. 

 

WHAT:          St. Bernard Parish President Craig P. Taffaro, Jr. announces
the Grand Opening of the new St. Bernard Parish Animal Shelter on Monday,
Jan. 11. The state-of-the-art facility costs more than $1.25 million and
replaces the original shelter destroyed during Hurricane Katrina. It was
built with FEMA funds, insurance proceeds and a $250,000 grant from The
Humane Society of the United States, the nation's largest animal protection
organization.
