Grand Opening held at IHOP in Chalmette

New restaurant to be open 24 hours a day

The IHOP - the International House of Pancakes - opened a location in
Chalmette in The Mall at 8740 W. Judge Perez Drive with a celebration
including balloons and a visit from a large chocolate chip pancake.

Nadia Esmail, a mother of three children "Alan, Dee, and Ruba", and a wife
to Mike Esmail, is on her journey to fulfill her dreams. She is the
franchisee and operator of the new IHOP in Chalmette in addition to other
stores she owns and operates. Three years ago, she visited her friends in
Chalmette and saw first-hand Katrina's destruction. She said she wanted to
be part of the rebuild of the community. She took it upon herself to do
whatever it took to make that dream a reality. The new IHOP in Chalmette
opened on December 30 of 2009.

"Knowing her willingness and determination, it was a no brainer that she was
going to get this dream accomplished," said Kal Sharaf, Director of
Operations for Ruba Management. "This IHOP brought excitement to the
community, employees and her family. She calls it her new baby, and I am
sure she will provide lots of TLC for it."

For 51 years, the IHOP family restaurant chain has served its world famous
pancakes and a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items that are
loved by people of all ages. IHOP offers its guests an affordable, everyday
dining experience with warm and friendly service. The first IHOP opened in
Toluca Lake, Calif. in 1958, and as of September 30, 2009, there were 1,433
IHOPs in 50 states, Canada and Mexico.
