St. Bernard Parish authorities are trying to identify masked robbers in two
incidents that happened within a short distance of each other this week.

The men were masked in both robberies, but authorities said they do not know
if the crimes are related. Both occurred at locations in eastern St. Bernard
Parish near the parish's border with Plaquemines Parish, authorities said.

No one was injured in either incident.

Surveillance photos from Nicosia's Express Lane, 101 Bayou Road, showed two
robbers, both armed, forcing an employee to open a cash register during a
robbery that occurred around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, a news release from the St.
Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office said.

The camera system showed one robber wearing a camouflage outfit that may be
a jump suit, while the other was dressed in black, said Chief Deputy Sheriff
James Pohlmann. Also, he said one man wore a distinctive LSU knit cap.

That robbery came a few hours after another reported armed robbery at a
business in eastern St. Bernard, the Sheriff's Office said. However, the
Sheriff's Office did not release details of that incident or provide an
address or name of the business.

Anyone with information about the men should call the St. Bernard Sheriff's
Office at 504.271.2501 or Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111 and they could be
eligible for a reward.
