Free acupuncture sessions will be available at the Community Center of
St Bernard, 1107 LeBeau St, Arabi, during the week of March 22 as part
of a training program for the National Acupuncture Detox Association
(NADA). NADA is a nonprofit organization that educates and advocates
for the use of acupuncture to treat issues including addiction,
trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder. NADA’s specific treatment
protocols, which have been carefully developed and extensively tested,
are currently being used by more than 1500 clinical sites in the US,
Europe, Australia and the Caribbean.

NADA conducts education and training related to the use of its
auricular (ear) acupuncture as part of comprehensive addiction
treatment programs to relieve suffering during detoxification, as well
as to prevent relapse and support recovery. In line with the spirit of
NADA, the organization strives to make acupuncture-based, barrier-free
addiction treatment accessible to all communities and to ensure its
integration with other treatment procedures. The training at the
Community Center is offered in conjunction with NADA's 25th
anniversary conference, which is being held at the Bourbon Hotel, New
Orleans.

Anyone wishing to receive a free acupuncture session is welcome to
come to the Community Center on Tuesday, March 23 through Thursday,
March 25 from 10 AM to 2 PM. No appointment is needed, and everyone
will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. For more
information, please contact Ms Wendy Zena at 504.202.1373 or NADA at
NADAOffice at acudetox.com.
