St. Bernard Parish- A manhunt in Saint Bernard Parish for a Tennessee armed
robbery suspect is over.

Just before midnight Wednesday, a sheriff's deputy found 41-year-old Douglas
Carlton in a wooded area just off the 1700 block of Bayou Road. Carlton
spent 27 hours in the woods after he fled from a state park ranger Monday
night and crashed his truck not far from where he was captured.

Carlton's escape set off a multi-agency manhunt that involved helicopters,
tracking dogs and checkpoints on the roads of St. Bernard Parish.

Carlton was due in court Tuesday on armed robbery charges in Tennessee. He
was booked in St. Bernard Parish on charges of possesion of a fire arm by a
convicted felon.
