Fire heavily damages house in Chalmette

St. Bernard Parish firefighters are investigating the cause of a blaze that
heavily damaged a Chalmette house today.

Firefighters were dispatched to the home at 204 Urquhart St. at 2 p.m.,
deputy fire chief Glenn Ellis said. When firefighters arrived flames were
shooting from the second-story roof, he said.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was reported injured.

The blaze was brought under control at 2:35 p.m., Ellis said.
