LOUISIANA CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OFFERS FAMILY FUN DAYS FREE
FOR RESIDENTS OF LA FOURCHE, PLAQUEMINES, ST. BERNARD
AND TERREBONNE PARISHES TO HONOR THOSE IMMEDIATELY
AFFECTED BY THE COASTAL OIL SPILL
WHEN: Saturday, May 22 & Sunday, May 23, 2010
Museum open Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. & Sunday noon-4:30 p.m.
WHO: Residents of La Fourche, Plaquemines, St. Bernard and Terrebonne
Parishes - Resident
identification is required for free entrance.
WHAT: The Louisiana Children’s Museum (LCM) will offer FREE ADMISSION to
honor those immediately
affected by the coastal oil spill.
These families are invited to take a break from the considerable stress in
their lives brought on by
the oil spill tragedy and enjoy our 30,000 square feet of hands‐on fun
together. Whether you are
piloting a tugboat at the Little Port of New Orleans, shopping in the Little
Winn Dixie Grocery
Store or standing inside of a giant bubble, everyone has the opportunity to
explore, experience,
and learn at the Louisiana Children’s Museum.
Museum consulting psychologist Valerie A. Wajda‐Johnston, Ph.D. will be on
site on Saturday,
May 22 to talk with families and children about how to help young children
cope with disaster.
Art Trek, located on the second floor of the Museum, will offer visitors a
chance to participate in
an art project depicting wetlands wildlife.
