[StBernard] Anti-Arizona protest flops - pro-Arizona rally a success

May 29th, 2010. A nationwide, well publicized protest march finally took
place in Phoenix today. The protest against Arizona's new illegal
immigration law was pushed by countless union websites around the country.
Even transportation and finacials assistance was offered to anyone wishing
to participate in the protest. Organizers for the past week bragged on
national television how they were going to have no less than 100,000 people
joining the protest in Phoenix. That was a week ago.

Yesterday, protest organizers could see people were not flocking into
Phoenix the way they had antipated, so they lowered their expectations to
50,000 demonstrators. Well, the protest came and went today - and was
barely noticed. Phoenix Police Department crowd control experts said there
might have been 10,000 marchers - maybe. Their not quite sure how many were
actual protest marchers against many who were locals and simply watching the
event. As one Phoenix local watching the march said, "can you spell
F-L-O-P?"

Meanwhile, a short distance away from the embarrassing protest in Phoenix
was a rally in Tempe, Arizona of "pro-Arizona" supporters of the new illegal
immigration law which started the night before at a local stadium. Some
media reports estimated the "pro" rally at 7,000 - but remember, these were
reports coming from news media that has been sympathetic to the illegal
aliens. What the media services conveniently failed to mention is the
Pro-Arizona law rally asked people to sign in. They got over 13,000
signatures and addresses. Rally organizers said they know for a fact many
didn't get the chance to sign the attendance sheet, so the numbers could
have been as high as 20,000. Naturally, the national news media covered the
protest in Phoenix, but gave no coverage to the Pro-Arizona rally in Tempe.
No surprise there.

This all goes to prove the Anti-Arizona protest is losing steam - and losing
it fast. The anit-American powers that be gave it everything they had and
got beat by a pro-Arizona rally in Tempe that was initially started by an
Arizona housewife. How embarrassing for the labor unions who put everything
they had into the protest. The pro rally organizers have begun a "buycott"
of Arizona and it appears to be working. Local spas and resorts in Arizona
are reporting an increase in guests over the past week compared to occupancy
figures at this time last year.

I could be wrong here, but maybe the failure of the Arizona protesters could
have something to do with the fact that just about every public opinon poll
has 3 out of 4 Americans in support of Arizona's new law, including Arizona
citizens - you know the "real" ones that are actual legal citizens.

One of the funniest quotes of the day came from a protester:

"I don't think that this law is American. I think it's discriminatory," said
marcher Chelsea Halstead, a 20-year-old college student from Flagstaff. "I'm
offended by it because this is a nation founded by immigrants."

Poor child. She must be one of 80% plus of recent high school students the
U.S. Department of Education estimates has little to no knowledge of early
American history. You see Chelsea, immigrants had absolutely nothing to do
with the founding of America - it was colonists deliberately settled here by
England and Spain. Oh, and don't forget France, otherwise New Orleans would
have never been established. Immigration didn't start to happen for at
least another two centuries later, Chelsea. But you're welcome anyway,
Chelsea, for today's lesson in correct early American history.
