Incident Commander to Meet With St. Bernard Parish Officials Tomorrow to
Review Boom Strategy for St. Bernard Parish

 

Incident Commander U.S. Coast Guard Captain Roger Laferriere and members of
the Incident Command in Houma are scheduled to visit St. Bernard Parish oil
spill operations tomorrow to review the current booming strategy for St.
Bernard Parish waters. Parish officials will be on hand to discuss this
strategy with Captain Laferriere and his staff. He will provide assistance
with options and recommendations based off of their review of the parish's
boom strategy. The intention of this meeting is to ensure this strategy is
as effective as possible.

 

"We are looking forward for the opportunity to share the comprehensive
strategy of the St. Bernard Prevention and Protection Plans with Captain
Laferriere," St. Bernard Parish President Craig Taffaro said today. "This
plan will allow us to focus the energies of our commercial fleet in ways to
best combat the oil crisis."
