Incident Commander meets with St. Bernard Parish Officials to Review Boom
Strategy Plan for St. Bernard Parish

 

Incident Commander U.S. Coast Guard Captain Roger Laferriere, Sarah Krupa of
the Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Coast Guard representative and
boom specialist Commander Nate Knapp, BP representatives Brian Bauer and
Dave Golson and a Louisiana National Guard representative met with St.
Bernard Parish oil spill operation officials Saturday to review the current
boom strategy plan for St. Bernard waters. 

 

St. Bernard officials presented the incident commander with St. Bernard
Parish's boom strategy plan and information regarding the resources and
expertise involved in developing and executing the plan. Captain Laferriere
said he was impressed with the technical aspects and the in-depth plan the
parish had devised. The Incident Commander made some suggestions regarding
the recovery of oil and tactics to divert the oil away from the marshes.
Captain Laferriere indicated full support of the plan and said he would
forward the parish's plan to final approving officials.
