Richard,

I agree that all sides try to make good use a crisis - not letting it go to
waste.  But I don't find that prevents us from being able to discern the
difference between those comments that sound sensible from those where it's
more than a little obvious the speaker is trying to sensationalize the
moment for purely personal gain.

But true, some have gotten so good at lying where it's becoming more and
more difficult to recognize truthful sencerity when it spoken or displayed.
