Fines Enforced by US Coast Guard for Boom Vandalism
 
Due to numerous reports of boom vandalism (sabotage, theft of chains,
cables, anchors and in some cases booms themselves) the US Coast Guard will
begin imposing a fine of $32,500.00 for instances of boom vandalism or
theft, effective immediately. Maritime Safety & Security Teams will begin
patrolling St. Bernard Parish waters to enforce this.
