[StBernard] Obama Using Oil Spill to Promote Cap and Tax

Team,

This week President Obama gave his first address from the Oval Office. Calling it a disappointment would be an understatement. Obama's address was billed as a large speech on the spill in the Gulf, and it was, sort of, for a few minutes. That's because Obama quickly turned the prime-time national address to promoting his job-killing moratorium, and rekindled his horrible cap and tax plan.

Louisiana is suffering from a human, ecological and economical catastrophe. Thousands of Louisianians are out of work, the beaches are empty and the fishing boats are idle. Obama's moratorium is threatening to kill more than 150,000 more jobs, with a potential $330,000,000 per month in lost wages.

Obama’s mentality is never let a crisis go to waste, but using the oil spill crisis to promote cap and tax is just offensive. He spent equal amount of time promoting cap and tax as he did discussing the oil spill response and cleanup. <http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?a=lkISJ7PSKmL2ImI&s=fgLNLUPBLiITJZMvEkG&m=dmJVKfMXJjJXInL> The moratorium endangering 150,000 jobs was only worth a little more than a minute.

See how much time Obama spent on each issue in his address. <http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?a=edJEKMNqEfKPK2L&s=fgLNLUPBLiITJZMvEkG&m=dmJVKfMXJjJXInL>

Cap and tax will only worsen the effects of Obama's moratorium. It will result in even more jobs losses, more lost wages, and more lost revenues for Louisiana and the nation as well as significantly increase the cost of your energy bill.

Please join me in fighting against Obama's job-killing policies <http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?a=hqLKKVOCKiJWIcK&s=fgLNLUPBLiITJZMvEkG&m=dmJVKfMXJjJXInL> like the moratorium, cap and tax and Obamacare.

The oil spill recovery and clean-up response is not only the top priority for Louisianians, it needs to be President Obama's top priority right now too.

Thank you for your continued support.
