Nine qualify so far for St. Bernard Parish School Board elections

Nine people had signed up to run for St. Bernard Parish School Board offices
as of this morning. The election is Oct. 2. Qualifying continues this
afternoon, Thursday and Friday.

The candidates were listed on the Louisiana Secretary of State's election
website.

Incumbent Lynette DiFatta, a Republican from Arabi, will run for the 1st
District. She currently holds the board's 3rd District post.

Incumbent William Egan, a Democrat from Arabi, will run for the 2nd
District.

Sean Warner of Chalmette, who listed "other'' for party, will run for the
4th District.

Incumbent Joe Long Sr., a Chalmette Republican, will run for the 5th
District.

Incumbent Hugh Craft, a Democrat from Chalmette, will run for the 6th
District.

Incumbent Cliff Englande, of Meraux, who lists "no party,'' will run for the
8th District.

Incumbent Henderson Lewis, a Violet Democrat, will run for the 9th District.

Ron Nicosia, a Democrat from St. Bernard who took over the 10th District
seat earlier this year when his son became a district judge, will run for
the 10th District.

Incumbent Donald Campbell, a Republican from St. Bernard, will run for the
11th District.
