Summer Reading Program holds 10 a.m. closing ceremony Friday at Council on
Aging
Coastal Care Health Fair Friday 10 a.m.-3p.m. & Radio Disney Event 10:30
a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Civic Center
The temperature's rising as the St. Bernard Parish Library wraps up its Make
a Splash-Summer Reading Program. Pre-readers through 12th graders who
completed their reading bingo games and turned them in on time are entered
in the library's Grand Finale prize drawing set for Friday, July 9th at 10
a.m. at the St. Bernard Council on Aging site, 8201-A W. Judge Perez Drive
in Chalmette. Winners must be present to win. All participants who
complete their games will receive a certificate of as well as McDonald's
coupons for a variety of delicious food and beverage items. Adult bingo
game players have until Monday, July 26th to complete their games and enter
the adult prize drawing set for Tuesday, July 27th. Adult winners will be
notified by phone. All Bingo players who are not able to complete their
games by the prize drawing deadlines can visit the library thru Monday,
August 2nd to receive their certificates.
Many outstanding local businesses have continued to support the library's
summer reading efforts by donating passes, coupons, gift certificates and
merchandise. The 2010 sponsors are as follows: Audubon Zoo, Curves, J &J
Jewelry, Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard, Louisiana Children's Museum,
McDonalds, the Jungle, National World War II Museum, New Orleans
Paddlewheels, Pets Plus, Rivertown Museum, and Tony's PoBoy Restaurant. The
library's Grand Finale prize drawing would not be possible without these
community-spirited businesses and organizations that believe in the
importance of libraries and literacy.
Following the Grand Finale prize drawing the end of summer reading
celebration, there will be a special visit by Radio Disney as part of the
Coastal Care Fair being held simultaneously at the Sigur Civic Center Grand
Ballroom at 3220 Jean Lafitte Parkway. Library friends young and old are
encouraged to attend this lively event for additional fun, prizes and
activities.

Library hours are Mondays through Thursdays 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Fridays
and Saturdays 9 a.m. through 5 p.m.

This free event Friday, July 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sigur Civic
Center Grand Ballroom in Chalmette will have FREE INFORMATION, SERVICES AND
WORKSHOPS.

The Radio Disney Road Crew will be at the event for two hours starting
around 10:30 a.m. for interactive games, dance contests, line dances, Toy

t-shirts, puzzles, door hangers and more.
