Report on Oil Sightings throughout Coastal Louisiana

BATON ROUGE - The below is a situational awareness report of oil impacted areas led by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Louisiana Army National Guard and local governments.

Note: The information in this report has been forwarded to the federal incident command post in Houma, which is composed of U.S. Coast Guard and BP officials. This report consists of newly impacted areas, and does not serve as a comprehensive listing of impacted areas.

*	Sighting: Oil impacting marsh grass located on an unnamed island in Kerchimbo Bay 3 miles S of Shell Island.
*	Sighting: Oil Impacting marsh grass located in Live Oak Bayou on Turtle Pen Isle.
*	Sighting: Oil impacting small unnamed island located in Drum Bay 3 miles NW of Keel Boat Isle.
*	Sighting: Oil impacting marsh grass located on an unnamed island in Deadmans Bayou 2 miles E of Catfish Pass.
*	Sighting: Oil impacting Island located on the S side of Hell Pass Coast, 1 mile NE of Catfish Pass.
*	Sighting: Oil impacting an unnamed island located 1 mile ENE of Rawhead Island.
*	Sighting: Oil impacting the S side of Dry Bread Island.
*	Sighting: Tar balls impacting the entire N side of Comfort Island.
*	Sighting: Oil located in Fox Bay 3 miles W of Martin Island.
*	Sighting: Oil impacting shoreline located on the S side of Garner Island.
*	Sighting: Oil impacting marsh grass on the shoreline located from Fiddler Point extending 2 miles north in to Seven Dollar Bay.
*	Sighting: Sheen with tar balls located 1 mile NE of Mozambique Point.

*	Sighting: Oil impacting entire S shore of Point Lydia.
*	Sighting: Sheen located .5 miles E of Point Gardner.
*	Sighting: Oil with tar balls located in Bayou Terre Aux Boeufs .75 miles NW of Mozambique Point. 
*	Sighting: Red streamers with tar balls located 7 miles E of the Chandeleur Islands.
*	Sighting: Oil streamers located offshore 12 miles E of Boot Island.
*	Sighting: Oil in grass located on an unnamed island in Kerchimbo Bay 2 miles ESE of Mink Island. 
*	Sighting: Oil impacting grass located on the S side of Turtle Pen isle.
*	Sighting: Oil with tar balls located in Morgan Harbor 1.5 miles N of Paulina Point.
*	Sighting: Oil impacting shore of an unnamed island located in Seven Dollar Bay 2 miles WNW of Gardner Island.
*	Sighting: Oil impacting the shoreline located on the E side of Fiddler Point.

Plaquemines Parish:

*	Sighting: Gray sheen located 5.3 miles SE of Barataria Pass.
*	Sighting: Heavy oil located on West and East Fourchon Beaches.
*	Sighting: 10 yard by 1/2 mile long oil mass located 2.75 miles N of East Grand Terre Island.
*	Sighting: Heavy orange globules in ribbons and sheen located in vicinity of Pelican Island.
*	Sighting: Light gray sheen located in East Grand Terre Canal.
*	Sighting: Light gray sheen located in canal between Bay Long and Bay Ronquille.
*	Sighting: Gray sheen located in southeastern portion of Bay Long.
*	Sighting: 200 foot by 200 foot mass of sheen located in 2.19 miles E/SE of Manilla.
*	Sighting: Patches of oil in the marsh located on the southeastern shoreline of Grise Bourbe Island.
*	Sighting: Three large patches of oil located 1 mile SW of Jessies Island.
*	Sighting: Sheen with orange emulsified oil located 4 miles W of the West Jetty of the Southwest Pass.
*	Sighting: Oil located 1.75 miles SW of Lonesome Island.
*	Sighting: 1.5 miles by .25 mile oil sheen located in northern East Bay, 2.43 miles SE of Cockler Bay
*	Sighting: Non-recoverable oil located 8.9 miles E of the southern tip of the East Jetty of the SW Pass 
*	Sighting: 1/4 mile by 1/4 mile bands of oil located 1.86 miles W of the West Jetty of the Southwest Pass.
*	Sighting: Oil mass 2.7 miles wide located 6.5 miles W of Pass Du Bois.
*	Sighting: 100' by 150' dark brown oil located 3.37 miles W of Curfew Point.
*	Sighting: Patches of oil located 0.67 miles W of Lake Campo Pass on the northeastern shoreline of Bay of River Aux Chenes.
*	Sighting: 20 yard by 5 yard masses of oil located 4 miles W of the Southwest Pass Lighthouse.
*	Sighting: Oil located 5.20 miles E of Kelly Gap.
*	Sighting: Oil located 6 miles SW of the mouth of the Southwest Pass.
*	Sighting: Brown/Red oil located in the northern shoreline of Black Bay 1.25 miles NE of Grise Bourbe Island. 
*	Sighting: Oil in the grass located in NE Bay Gardene 1 mile NE of Lost Bayou.
*	Sighting: Impact oil to shore line located 2 miles W of Tom Lear Pass in southern part of Joes Bay.
*	Sighting: Oiled vegetation along with tar balls located in SW Scott Bay.
*	Sighting: Oil in grass located in northwestern Barataria Bay 1.28 miles SW of mouth of Wilkinson Bay.
*	Sighting: Oil impacting 70 feet of the southeastern shoreline of Wilkinson Bay.
*	Sighting: Oil in the grass located in the approximate center of the northern shoreline of Bay Batiste.
*	Sighting: Tar balls in sheen located 19 miles SE of the Barataria Pass.
*	Sighting: Patches of oil in sheen running north and south located 11.33 miles W of the West Jetty of the Southwest Pass.

*	Sighting: Oil located offshore 18 miles S of the W end of Isle Grande Terre.

Lafourche Parish:

*	Sighting: Oil observed on shore of Brenton Sound
*	Sighting: Heavily oiled marsh .5 miles SE of Coffee Bay Oil field.
*	Sighting: Oil on marsh .3 miles WSW of Bayou Parlourde.
*	Sighting: Fresh oil located on East Fourchon Beach .25 miles long and inch thick.
*	Sighting: Weathered oil located .5 miles W of Bay Champagne.

*	Sighting: Oil sheen located 2.5 miles WSW of the Chevron Fourchon Heliport.
*	Sighting: Oil with sheen covering an area 10 to 15 miles long by 4 miles wide located 7 miles E of the Chevron Fourchon Heliport.
*	Sighting: Oil sheen with tar balls located just off the E side of Casse-tete Island
*	Sighting: Tar balls located in the middle of Caminada Bay.
*	Sighting: Oil with tar balls impacting the marsh grass on the E end the Southwestern Louisiana Canal.
*	Sighting: Oil located in the NW end of Bay Desespere

*	Sighting: Oil Patties located 24 miles WSW of Atchafalaya Bay.
*	Sighting: Tar balls located 9 miles W of Atchafalaya Bay.
*	Sighting: Oil sheen on surface with streamers at mouth of Big Bayou Dularge.
*	Sighting: Oil slick at mouth of Grand Calliou Bayou.
*	Sighting: Oil sheen 100 yards by 2.5 miles in Bay Round.
*	Sighting: Oiled mangroves on N side of Whiskey Island.
*	Sighting: Oil sheen located 9.8 miles SW of Whiskey Island.
*	Sighting: Oil on grass 1.5 miles SE Little Caillou Bayou.
*	Sighting: Recoverable oil located on E side of Rock Island.
*	Sighting: Oil sheen 100by400 yards located between Timbalier and Wine Island wide.
*	Sighting: Oil patches, between 4''-6'' in diameter, on the gulf side beach on W end of Timbalier Island.
*	Sighting: Oil sighted 100yard by 100yard 25 miles S of Timbalier Island.

*	Sighting: Oil sheen, tar balls, and patties located offshore 3 miles SW of Pelican Island.
*	Sighting: Oil sheen, tar balls, and patties located offshore mile S of the mouth of Bayou Goreau
*	Sighting: Ribbon of oil located in Caillou Bay 2 S of Bayou Charbon.
*	Sighting: Light patches of oil spanning over an area 10 yards x 1/2 mile long located at the entrance to Caillou Grand Bayou.
*	Sighting: 1 mile long x 100 yards wide oil sheen located in Lake Pelto located 2.75 miles W of Bodwin Point
*	Sighting: Oil impacting the marsh grass on the W side of the entrance to Bay Chaland
*	Sighting: Oil located offshore 8.6 miles SW of Timbalier Island.
*	Sighting: Broken up oil just below the surface one square mile wide located in an unnamed bay on the S side Caillou Lake.
*	Sighting: 3 nautical mile area of tar balls located offshore 2.5 miles S of Oyster Bayou Lighthouse.

*	Sighting: Oiled vegetation located about 1 mile S of Eden Isles between I-10 and HWY 11.

*	Sighting: Light sheen and froth located on entire Gulf side of Marsh Island
*	Sighting: Oil Spots and oil slick 16 miles South of Vermillion Block 67
*	Sighting: Oil patties 15miles South of Marsh Island.

*	Sighting: Pancakes located 2.75 miles in Vermillion intra coastal area.

*	Sighting: 2 patches of oil 25 feet wide with surrounding sheen located 9 miles S of the mouth of the Freshwater Bayou.
*	Sighting: One patch of oil with surrounding sheen located 12.5 miles S of the mouth of the Freshwater Bayou.
