[StBernard] Moratorium Neglect Is Deafening

President Obama is still not listening to Louisiana. While Louisianians are demanding Obama to lift the moratorium, his neglect of our economy is deafening.

Last week in Lafayette nearly 15,000 people gathered to protest Obama's devastating moratorium. I also personally invited President Obama to send a top advisor to our Senate committee hearing today on how many jobs their drilling moratorium is killing.

I'll let you guess the White House response - the letter was unanswered and no one from the White House showed up to the hearing.

Tens of thousands of Louisianians are being put out of work and the decision to lift the moratorium rests wholly on President Obama's shoulders. He is either deaf to Louisiana's needs or he is choosing not to listen in order to advance his radical political agenda.

Louisiana needs a fighter to stand up to this radical agenda. My opponent Charlie Melancon goes along with the Obama agenda 84% of the time and gave him an "A" on his job performance. A small donation of $25 or more today will help us defeat the Melancon/Obama agenda <https://secure.davidvitter.com/site/c.ktJUJ7MNIuE/b.5584433/k.8450/Donate_Today/apps/ka/sd/donorcustom.asp?kntaw38874=F2C1FDB42B22435A8A7120DED6824A0B> .

At a minimum, today's hearing would have been an excellent opportunity for Obama's senior advisors to hear first-hand the actual ‘on-the-ground' effects his moratorium is having on local economies and Louisiana families.

Let's keep up our demands to lift the moratorium. Call 202-456-1414 to voice your opinions directly to the White House.

I also want to thank the organizers of the Economic Survival Rally in Lafayette for giving Louisiana a platform for our voices to be heard nationally. The event was a huge success and I appreciate the kind words from City-Parish President Joey Durel. <http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?a=ovLWLaMULiK1LpI&s=efJLIROsFbLKJWPAJmF&m=8rJQI4PBIbLNKaJ>

We must continue to fight the job-killing moratorium and fighting for Louisiana's economic survival.

Sincerely,

David Vitter
