HELP PLAN THE FUTURE OF TOURISM FOR ST. BERNARD PARISH

Strategic planning workshop scheduled October 26 

 

The St. Bernard Parish Tourist Commission in conjunction with the University
of New Orleans will conduct a Tourism Strategic Planning Workshop on
Tuesday, October 26 at Nunez Community College Auditorium, 3710 Paris Road
in Chalmette from 4 to 6 p.m. The objectives of this workshop are:

 

(1.)       To provide citizens and stakeholders with information as to the
impact of the         Tourism Industry in St. Bernard Parish; 

 

(2.)       To gather information from St. Bernard residents, businesses and
government officials regarding their perceptions of tourism development;

 

(3.)       To help create a tourism attraction inventory for St. Bernard
Parish, including existing attractions/events and potential
attractions/events; 

 

(4.)       To seek support for and participation in the Strategic Tourism
Planning Process.

 

This workshop is a productive way to acquire good dialogue and information
from participants as to the future of Tourism. After completion of the
workshop, the next phase of the process is to analyze the information and
suggestions from participants and form a strategic planning task force who
will then begin formulating a Tourism Strategic Plan for St. Bernard Parish.
This plan will be the Tourism road map for successful development of this
industry.
