St. Bernard Sheriff's Office looking for missing 16-year-old Chalmette girl

The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office is looking for a 16-year-old
Chalmette girl missing since Sunday.

Laura Morales was last seen outside an eastern New Orleans nightclub about 2
a.m. Sunday, said Chief Deputy Sheriff James Pohlmann. 

Authorities have no reason to suspect foul play, Pohlmann said, but ask that
anyone with knowledge of Morales' whereabouts call 504.271.2501.

Morales and her 15-year-old sister left their mother's home on Sept. 25
without permission. The girls had an argument and Morales ran from the
nightclub. She has not been seen since, Pohlmann said.

He said the 16-year-old called her mother Monday and in a whisper said she
was OK, asked her mother not to call authorities. The call then
disconnected. The family has had no other contact with her.
