Dear Friends -
This week I was proud to attend Louisiana Veterans Honor Medal ceremonies in
Calcasieu, Livingston and Iberville parishes where we honored brave men and
women who stood in harm's way to protect our freedom. More than 16,000
Louisiana veterans have received a medal and we have held over 60 events
across the state in honor of our veterans.

appreciation for the service and sacrifice of Louisiana's military heroes.
As I told the American Press

generations - different battles in different places at different times -
they are united by a common cause: their love of country, their honor and
their courage.
We have also continued making stops on our "Building a Better Louisiana for
our Children" tour across the state. I've always said that you can't do this
job from Baton Rouge and that's why we have visited every parish multiple
times since entering office to talk about the progress we have made to make
Louisiana the best place in the world to raise a family and start a career.

Crowley to talk about the challenges we face as a state, including the
national economic downturn, oil spill recovery and the job-killing policies
coming out of Washington, D.C. We will get through these challenges by using
our ingenuity to make our state stronger than before and leaving more
opportunity for our children.
Sincerely,
Governor Bobby Jindal
