Hospital tax, School Board runoff will be subject of Alliance for Good
Government forum in Chalmette

The Alliance for Good Government will hold a forum in Chalmette Wednesday to
discuss the proposed 8-mill tax for a new hospital in St. Bernard Parish and
the runoff for the 3rd District School Board post.

The election is Nov. 2.

St. Bernard Parish Councilman Wayne Landry, who chairs the parish's Hospital
Board, will speak for the hospital millage. Sterling Cardon will speak
against it, according to a St. Bernard Parish Council news release.

The 3rd District School Board race features two candidates, Rashelle
Vandenborre and Darleen Asevedo. They finished first and second in the Oct.
2 primary election.

The forum begins at 7 p.m. in the St. Bernard Parish Council Chambers, 8201
W. Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette. In St. Bernard Parish, it will also be
televised on government access channel 76.
