Los Islenos Heritage and Cultural Society to hold its third Annual Fiesta
Campestre Nov. 14

Fund raiser to be at the home of Anthony and Roselyn Fernandez

Los Islenos Heritage and Cultural Society will sponsor its third Annual
Fiesta Campestre, which means literally a party in the field. The society
fundraiser will be Sunday, November 14 beginning at noon at the home of
Anthony and Roselyn Fernandez at 3201 Bayou Road in St. Bernard.

"The Society works diligently to support parish government in its goal of
developing Los Islenos Museum Complex as a first rate museum facility that
highlights the parish's cultural diversity," St. Bernard Parish President
Craig P. Taffaro said.

"Los Islenos Society needs funding to realize the potential of the Museum
Complex," Islenos Society President Dot Benge said. "We need to fence the
property, development permanent interpretative exhibitions and develop
programs within the public schools to foster awareness of the Isleno culture
and heritage."

The event will benefit Fiesta 2011, scheduled for the weekend of March 19
and 20. The Annual Isleno Fiesta totally benefits the development of the St.
Bernard Government's Los Islenos Museum Complex. There will roast suckling
pig and traditional Isleno side dishes and desserts. There will be a silent
auction. For more information, contact Fiesta Chairman Hugh Pentney at
504-251-2040.
