[StBernard] Hospital Tax

I doubt they would have had specialists on call to come to Chalmette.
Rather, as I read elsewhere
they probably would have built a hospital-ette (baby hospital) to funnel
almost any and all
procedures to their main campus.

And btw...where would those specialists have seen patients? Are you saying
*they* would have
built a medical office building?

The problem with Ochnser not contracting doctors is also the benefit
of
Ochnser, LSU Medical (which also made a similar offer), or any other
hospital: Ochnser or LSU Medical would have the specialists
available or on
call. As it is, the HSD is having to recruit doctors to commit to
what the
HSD called a 'piggy-back' agreement with their current hospitals and
weekly
office schedules.

Also, I dont think someone's doctor at East Jefferson or Ochnser
will have
the ability to see their patient at the St. Bernard Hospital unless
they
make a contractual agreement.
