A 34-year-old man accused of slashing his ex-fiancee's face during an
argument at his Terrytown apartment complex has been arrested.

Mohammad Issa was captured Thursday in the 700 block of Rowley Street in
Arabi following a collaborative effort by the FBI, the Jefferson Parish
Sheriff's Office, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office and the U.S.
Marshal's Gulf Coast Regional Task Force.

Issa was wanted for aggravated second-degree battery.

He was apprehended without incident inside the home of a friend, according
to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

His brother, 23-year-old Amad Issa, also was arrested. He was booked with
one count of accessory after the fact to aggravated second-degree battery,
according to JPSO.

The Issa brothers lived in Terrytown, according to authorities.

A warrant was issued for Mohammad Issa of 1784 Carol Sue Ave., after
law-enforcement officers concluded that on Dec. 9 Issa cut a 26-year-old
woman on the face and leg with a razor blade.

The victim said Issa slashed her face because he was upset that she danced
for one of his co-workers while working as an exotic dancer. She said that
when she brought their son to visit him on Dec. 9, Issa told her that he was
either going to kill her or disfigure her.

"He said he wanted to make me ugly so no one would look at me," she said.

She feared he would try to leave the country because she was under the
impression family members might help him secure his passport and other
documents from his home.
