Wireless for Hope, a Florida based foundation created by the Telecom
Service Bureau, Inc. is designed to serve the needs of
underprivileged individuals and families in impoverished communities.
Wireless for Hope is launching its campaign in St. Bernard Parish by
giving away FREE cell phones with free caller id, voicemail and
call-waiting on Monday, January 17th (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the nonprofit Community Center of St.
Bernard located at 1111 LeBeau Street in Arabi.

To qualify, at least one member of the household must certify that
they receive at least one of the following government assistance
programs: Food Stamps, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance to Needy
Families (TANF), Low-Income Home Energy Program (LIHEP), Supplemental
Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance (Sect. 8) or
the National School Lunch Program (free program only).

Wireless for Hope’s goal is to assist families and individuals by
offering them the freedom to communicate, without ever having to pay
another cell phone bill again. Qualifying individuals receive a free
cell phone with 100 free rollover minutes which will automatically be
replenished each month. In addition, the Refer-a-Friend option offers
participants the opportunity to earn an additional 100 free minutes
per month for every approved friend referred.
