FEMA gives funds to St. Bernard Catholic school

CHALMETTE, La. (AP) - A Roman Catholic school in St. Bernard Parish plans to
expand its campus with $4 million in federal hurricane aid.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says it is giving the money to the
Our Lady of Prompt Succor School. The money covers damages to another
Catholic school flooded during Hurricane Katrina. FEMA sometimes allows
money for one damaged structure to be used at another site.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans plans to build a new 12,600-square-foot
school building at Our Lady of Prompt Succor.

So far, FEMA has allocated $341 million in public assistance funding to the
Archdiocese of New Orleans for Katrina damage.
