The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office is asking the public's help in
identifying three young males who damaged a vehicle and two mailboxes by
setting off small explosions in Chalmette on Sunday night and Monday
morning.

No one was injured in the incidents which occurred between 10 p.m. and 1
a.m., Chief Deputy Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

The youths mixed chemicals in plastic bottles to cause the explosions, and
and the sheriff's office is warning people who find a plastic bottle in
their mailbox to call authorities and not try to remove it.

Anyone with information about the identity of those involved in the
explosions should call the Sheriff's Office at 504.271.2501 of Crimestoppers
at 504.822.1111.

A witness to one incident saw an older model silver Jeep, probably a
Cherokee, that was occupied by three young males, Pohlmann said.

All four small explosions happened in Chalmette, east of Paris Road, in the
3500 block of Charles Drive, the 3300 block of Veronica Drive, the 3400
block of Chalona Drive and the 3800 block of Despaux Drive.
