Career Criminal' Arrested On Attempted Murder Charges

Thomas Hankton, 34, Arrested At Chalmette Home Thursday Night

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police said they've put a career criminal back in
jail.
Thomas Hankton, 34, is charged with the attempted murder of a 65-year-old
man who was a witness to another crime.

Police said they found the man in his home on Glengary Road, suffering from
multiple gunshot wounds just after 2 a.m. on Oct. 24.

Detectives arrested Hankton at a home in Chalmette on Thursday.

Police said he's a convicted felon who was out on parole. He has been
arrested before on charges of murder, battery and drug-related offenses.
