St. Bernard Parish sheriff's deputy shoots man in head

A member of the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office's narcotics unit shot a
man in the head Thursday night in Arabi, the sheriff's office said.

The man, who is still alive, was taken to Interim LSU Public Hospital.

The man was shot during an incident about 9:30 p.m. in the 300 block of
Perrin Drive, the sheriff's office said.

According to the sherrif's office, the man, whose identity was not released,
was shot when he tried to grab a deputy's gun during a drug investigation.
