Ah poor Jarvis ought to be thankful for SBP.  It gives him something to get
his ire up other than murders in the city and has provided at least a column
a week for him it seems.

It's funny as hell that neither he nor the James Perry platform of the fair
housing "whatever" never mention the number of rentals in the parish that
say they'll take sec. 8.  And this:

median rental costs in St. Bernard Parish jumped from $609 in 2000 to $853

Median means the *middle*.  Theoretically exactly half of rentals available
should be below that $853 and half higher.  

Sigh...details just get in the way, don't they?
