[StBernard] Why was Lake Carmel in N, O, East any different? (St Bernard apt controversy)

Yes, this is one of the worst case of reverse racism and government
interference in an attempt to override current states' rights/local
government rights to achieve quotas and affirmative action in housing that
I've seen in the past 50 years!

This issue is centered on what constitutes local government standards. It
stipulates that community standard issues instructions on how to keep
"multi-complexes" from being built in its own boundaries and for a purpose
which does not gel with local ordinances/laws and it does so by forced
integration to order to attain or achieve 50% or more quota numbers.

Yes, all races have a right in a community. And, no, we can see now that all
buildings being built are not subject to community standards or housing
specifics as outlined by local or state standards. It is the community which
decides what types of building permits or the construction types are
proposed and what conditions present and future are to be subjected to its
citizenry as well.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

And it indeed is socialistic when a nation can force communities with
governmental action to accept any type of construction under any
circumstances; to appease or pleasure a specific race of people in order to
subject a community to accept intense reverse racism as it has by the
construction of "mixed income" (and everyone knows the term here) types.
These types are hell-bent to achieve its goal with punitive actions by the
twisted wit of judges, the federal government and so forth). This would deem
an action whose sole purpose is fulfilling a mission. And, we all know that
its socialist mandate is to shift a balance of power and political set of
numbers to please the Marxists who are probing the outcome to please their
greedy palates.

This is the "letter to the editor" of the TP I sent in. TP staff called me
Wed to confirm so maybe it will publish Friday or so. I saw the same info in
nola blogs/comments re: Jarvis deBerry's article Wed and thought it a good
idea to put it out there.

Please. Place the race card face down. St. Bernard's fight against the
apartment complexes is no different than that of our New Orleans East
neighbors.

Cases in point. Morrison Homes proposed to build 36 homes single family
homes adjacent to Lake Carmel with a 15 yr lease to own government program.
Residents opposed the program based on loss of property value and quality of
life. The N.O. City Council killed the measure by the rejecting the plan in
August 2009, thanks to the support of Councilwoman Cynthia Willard-Lewis and
Senator Duplessis. Subsequently, Levy Gardens proposed 100 mixed income
townhomes next to the exclusive Eastover community. A white developer
opposed by black politicians. Deal killed. St. Bernard shares the same
concerns as our neighbors in Lake Carmel and Eastover. We are no different.
