BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Four drafts of proposals to shrink the state's congressional delegation from seven to six members have been offered to the state House committee working on redistricting efforts.

Each scenario would heavily redraw the U.S. House districts and pit two incumbent congressmen against each other.

In two proposals offered by House and Governmental Affairs Chairman Rick Gallot (GAH-low), Republican congressmen Charles Boustany of Lafayette and Jeff Landry of New Iberia would be moved into the same district. A third scenario offered by Gallot has Landry in the same district as GOP Rep. Bill Cassidy of Baton Rouge.

In a map offered by state Rep. Joe Harrison, north Louisiana Republican congressmen John Fleming and Rodney Alexander would be pitted against each other.

A special redistricting session begins Sunday.

Looks like under the scenarios, St. Bernard goes into the 1st District.
