All that is necessary for the Feds to get involved is for BP to file a
formal complaint on misuse of funds by a government/government officials for
public benefit.

Oh you can bet BP will cry foul and force some sort of legal action. But
also the feds can get involved because the funds being given by BP are for
the benefit of the "public good" which brings in a criminal investigation if
it is believed funds were misused.

The only question I'd have about your statement is: Were any Federal Funds
misused or misspent? If not I'm guessing there would be no federal
investigation unless BP were to somehow get involved saying "Hey! We was
robbed!!" Even then I don't know if the Feds would get involved unless BP
took the parish to court over some of that.

Just my opinion and 2 cents.
