[StBernard] FOUNDING FATHERS WERE WISE - KEEP ELECTORAL COLLEGE

Purely a move by the radical, socialists and communists to easily control
the outcome of the presidential election. The radicals know most of the
illegals they want to give citizenship to will be in California, which they
already win. The radicals also know that major urban cities are pure
Democratic bases and can often determine the outcome of an entire state's
election result. If the electoral college was done away with - which is
won't - you will never again see a presidential candidate campaign in the
likes of Montana, Idaho or even Louisiana. Maybe the Democratic candidate
would come to New Orleans for a five minute stop to appease black voters,
but I would not even depend on that he knows he's got their vote anyway.

Tell you what? If liberals want to see states actually succeeding from the
union, just go ahead and do away with the electoral college and you'll see
it happen - quickly. Because common sense dictates that no one wants to be
a part of something where they feel they are not wanted or no longer have a
vested interest. Of course, liberal states really don't want to see
southern or other states succeed because after all, who will be left in the
union that will do any work?

It never ceases to amaze me how wise our founding fathers were, all
accomplished and distinguished men who created our great nation. They were
well aware of the tyranny of absolute power and established a government
with checks and balances and shared power. One important aspect of this
shared power is the electoral college, which apportions Presidential
electors based on Congressional districts. This way, all states can
participate meaningfully in the election of the President. Without the
electoral college, the Presidential candidates would focus on the larger
states and urban areas and the other states, including Louisiana, could
easily become irrelevant. The legislature will be considering HB 388 shortly
to provide for election of the President by popular vote.

Although I am planning to vote against the bill, I am certainly interested
in your thoughts.
