Dear Friends,

We are coming down to the final days of the Legislative Session in Baton
Rouge and I wanted to give a quick update on where things stand.

We have a number of key reforms still moving through the Legislature. Some
of these bills include our proposal to protect more funding for TOPS and
also passing GRAD Act 2.0 to provide more flexibility for our colleges and
universities in return for improved student outcomes. Our bills to crack
down on sex predators and illegal drugs also continue to have strong support
in the Legislature.

Our proposals to encourage more business investment and create jobs,
including strengthening digital media tax credits and research and
development tax credits are still moving through process. Legislation to
create more budget flexibility in order to better protect higher education
and healthcare continue to have support in the Legislature.

Most importantly though, I'm confident that when the session concludes we'll
have a balanced budget that doesn't raise taxes and protects higher
education, healthcare and public safety. We're working closely with the
Legislature to come up with solutions that will protect services for
Louisianians, grow the economy and continue to move our state forward.

Finally, on my 40th birthday today, I am able to reflect how blessed I am as
the husband to my beautiful wife, Supriya, and father of three incredible
kids. I have the amazing honor as Governor of this great state to meet hard
working and resilient Louisianians from all across our state and I'm
thankful for that every day.

Sincerely,

Governor Bobby Jindal
