St. Bernard President Craig Taffaro to be in the Political Dunk Tank at
charity event

Darren Sharper to host Home Run for Kids Celebrity Charity Softball Game
July 23 

 

St. Bernard Parish St. Bernard President Craig Taffaro will be one of nearly
a dozen local political leaders in the Political Dunk Tank to raise money
for the American Cancer Society, which is part of the fun at the Darren
Sharper Home Runs for Kids Celebrity Charity Softball Game July 23 at Zephyr
Stadium. The dunk tank is part of the Hi-Ho Bar-B-Que Tailgate Fest from 2
to 6:30 p.m. and will include a car, truck and bike show featuring Copeland
Motorsports and G. Smith Motorsports. 

 

Taffaro will be in the Political Dunk Tank with other local leaders
including New Orleans Councilman At Large Arnie Fielkow, Jefferson Parish
President John F. Young, Jr., Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Norman,
Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser, Plaquemines Parish Councilman
Percy "PV" Griffin, Plaquemines Parish Councilman Kirk Lepine, St. Charles
Parish Councilman Shelley Tastet and St. Charles Parish Councilman Larry
Cochran. 

 

In addition to the car, truck and bike show, and the Political Dunk Tank,
the free Tailgate Fest will include an inflatable children's play area, a
celebrity cook-off, a blood drive in honor of Shelby Leonhard and Chuck's
Field of Dreams: two Saints Autograph Sessions with Hall of Famer Ricky
Jackson, Malcolm Jenkins and a very special guest. 

 

A portion of the proceeds benefit the Sharper Kids Foundation, American
Cancer Society the Choice is Yours! Health Initiative and the Blood Center.
