[StBernard] St. Bernard winners of the 2011 Special Olympic State Games honored

St. Bernard Parish President Craig Taffaro and Parish Council honors winners
of the 2011 Special Olympics State Games



The St. Bernard Parish Council and Parish President Craig P. Taffaro Jr.
honored the winners of the 2011 Special Olympics State Games at the July
council meeting. All of the athletes at the State Games from St. Bernard
Parish came home as winners. The group won seven gold medals, five silver
medals, four bronze medals and there were 2 fourth place finishers, said
Cheramie Kerth, who organizes the effort.



Here are the results for the athletes in their various age groups:



. Jesse Allen won first place in both the 200-Meter Race and the
400-Meter Race.

. Christal Bernabel won second place in the 50-Meter Race.

. Brittany Carlisle won first place in the Standing Long Jump and
second place in the Softball Throw.

. Jenna Clesi won first place in the 10-Meter Assisted Race.

. Matthew Davis won third place the 50-Meter Race.

. Justin Frazier won third place in the Standing Long Jump.

. Nicholas Gobuzzi won first place in the 100-Meter Wheelchair race.

. Kordell Hart won first place in the 50-Meter Race.

. Adam Jones won second place in the 100-Meter Race.

. Brandon Olivieri won fourth place in the Softball Throw.

. Brynn Plaiscia won second place in both the 25-Meter Race and the
Softball Throw.

. Bryan Schultz won fourth place in the 100-Meter Race and third
place in the Softball Throw.

. Hunter Sullivan won first place in the 100-Meter Race.

. Dylan Thomas won third place in the Standing Long Jump.
