St. Bernard Parish Update

 

While our overall conditions will improve as Tropical Storm Lee has been
downgraded to a Tropical Depression, residents of St. Bernard Parish are
asked to remain cautious due to gusting winds that will continue through the
day according to the National Weather Service. Also, rainfall should
continue to diminish through the day, Monday.

 

The Bayou Dupre and Bayou Bienvenue Water Control structures are currently
closed due to higher water levels on the MRGO side of the structures. The
water is continuing to be monitored by Lake Borgne Basin Levee District
personnel and will be opened as soon as the water levels subside enough to
allow the opening of those gates.

 

Access to communities south of Reggio is improving, but residents of those
communities are asked to use caution when traveling to Delacroix and
Hopedale.
