	St. Bernard Sheriff Jack Stephens and Chalmette attorney Sal
Gutierrez have
	resigned from the board of the Meraux Foundation, a
multimillion-dollar
	charitable organization created to "improve the quality of life and
standard
	of living of the residents of St. Bernard Parish." Rita Gue, a board
member,
	said the organization has received the resignations of both men. She
said
	they did not come as a surprise.
