St. Bernard Parish to perform testing of its Outdoor Emergency Notification
Sirens Friday, Sept. 23

St. Bernard Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness
will be performing routine maintenance and testing of its Outdoor Emergency
Notification Sirens for much of Friday, Sept. 23.

Residents may hear a low audible winding of the sirens. However, it will not
be long in duration nor reach the noise level used in an actual emergency.
If this should be a real emergency, sirens would be louder and residents
would be able to get information and instructions by tuning to 1680 on the
AM radio dial, which is the parish's local emergency radio broadcast
network.
