St. Bernard Fire Department to conduct fire hydrant inspections Starting
October 3

 

The St. Bernard Parish Fire Department will begin fire hydrants inspections
on Monday, October 3 , 2011. Throughout the parish, individual fire hydrants
will be opened for approximately two minutes to record water pressure and
flow readings.

 

The inspections times will be between 9 and 11 a.m. on Mondays through
Fridays.

 

This is a necessary procedure performed twice a year to ensure that all fire
hydrants in the parish work properly. While there may be a minimal
discoloration of water during the testing, simply running the water for a
short period should clear up the water.
