Perhaps what you say is true about the registered voters thing, but
unfortunately, Rick was caught on tape accepting the illegal campaign
contributions.  I believe that was the primary charge that brought him down.

hey guys, Rick Tonry didn't clown around with the local politicos, he went
straight to the top running for U.S. Representative to which he won.
Unfortunately some of his voters had failed to remove their names from the
voter rolls after they had passed on to bluer pastures---namely heaven, but
also another place just a little bit hotter than the bayou country. I don't
see how he could be held accountable for something beyond his control. It
wasn't his fault that they forgot to unregister before their final trip and
it wasn't his job to expunge the voter roles. So, I believe he was just
caught up in a huge mistake of which he had no control over.  And if you
believe this---I have some land just south of the end of the world in
Delacroix that I would like to sell you.
