St. Bernard Parish Government will host a free youth fishing rodeo and major
music concert on Sunday, November 6, which will be the first annual St.
Bernard Parish Youth Rock N' Fish Rodeo. Admission is free, and the event is
being held to benefit and celebrate the importance of coastal restoration in
St. Bernard Parish and the importance of fishing in the community. The event
will include a youth fishing tournament for children aged 12 and younger
along with a live concert, which will be held in the park. Booths will be
set up for concert-goers to purchase food and drink, the proceeds of which
will benefit local seafood restaurants and coastal preservation
organizations.

"This event will give families a chance to experience the new amenities at
Torres Park while enjoying a free music concert all while benefitting
coastal restoration," Parish President Craig P. Taffaro, Jr. said.

The day will kick off at 3 p.m. with the youth fishing tournament.
Tournament entry is free, and local youth will fish the newly opened fishing
lagoon in Torres Park, which will be stocked with local fish. The first 40
youth to arrive will receive a free fishing pole. Weigh-in will take place
between 3pm and dark and winners will be announced on stage and awards will
be given for the biggest catches of the day at 7:30pm.

Starting at 3:30 p.m. and concurrent to the fishing tournament will be a
free live concert in the park. This live music event will include
performances by major music acts and award winning local artists. Local
seafood delicacies will be available during the event, the proceeds of which
will benefit coastal organizations and local seafood restaurants. Headlining
the free concert is Dave Matthews Collaborator Tim Reynolds with his band
"TR3", along with The Lee Boys and local favorites The Iguanas and Grammy
award winning artist Cyril Neville.

rhythm and blues, jazz, rock, funk, hip-hop, country and ideas from other
nations. Cyril Neville is a New Orleans music and culture icon, as is
evident in his Grammy award winning work with the Neville Brothers, the
years he spent as vocalist and percussionist of the Meters, to his work
today with The Voice of the Wetlands All Stars, Galactic and his own solo
band. Local New Orleans band and festival favorite "The Iguanas" combine
