[StBernard] NTSB: Ban All Cellphone Use While Driving

The questions I have:
Were there no accidents before cell phones? Did people never die in
automobile accidents before cell phones?
If cell phones are banned, what else will be banned? Eating/drinking in the
car? Changing the radio station/volume while driving? Talking to other
passengers while driving?
The fact that two people died because it appears one driver sent or received
11 text messages in the 11 minutes leading to the crash is sad and
heartbreaking, but banning cell phones will not stop people from crashing or
dying in those crashes.
We will never live in a Utopian world where people never have to worry about
accidents. We need to work to prevent them as much as possible, but more
laws and regulations are not the answer.
Wasn't one of the reasons for the 55 MPH speed limit safety? I don't think
the jump to 70 MPH caused a big spike in accidents?
