The Community Center of St. Bernard will receive $89,900 to provide basic
services and food through their Mustard Seed Food Pantry program to focus on
commercial fishing families. That money will go toward both food and food
transport costs, a full-time food pantry warehouse worker, improvement of
the center's heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system and renovation
of a storage area.
Through the grant, the Community Center of St. Bernard is expected to
provide food to more than 4,000 families.
