For some reason on the Chalona Drive zoning change the Council is holding
its public hearing and has its vote scheduled on the agenda for Tuesday
March 20th 3pm meeting. Yet the Planning and Zoning Commission has not held
its meeting to discuss and vote on its recommendation to the council. That
P&Z meeting is later in March, either the 27th or the 28th at 4pm. P&Z
donot yet post their agendas online. This Docket is for a zoning change from
R1 residential and C1 Neighborhood Commercial to C2 General Commercial. C2
allows a list of business uses including apartments, trailer home parks,
retail manufacturing, funeral home and many other. It doesnot allow for a
brewery, and that is why the council is beginning to consider what type of
brewery could be allowed in C2.

St Bernard Code of Ordinance

After the public hearing as provided above, the planning commission shall
have submitted its report and recommendations upon the proposed change and
amendment to the council. The council shall not take official action upon
the change and amendment until the report of the planning commission has
been received; provided, however, that if the report has been filed within
forty-five (45) days after the date of the public hearing, the council may
then take official action upon the change or amendment.
