CHALMETTE, La. -- A man attempted to lure a 6-year-old boy into his vehicle
until the boy's older brother intervened, the St. Bernard Sheriff's Office
said.
Investigators are searching for the man in the incident that happened on
Saturday.
Police said the 6-year-old boy was walking near his home in Chalmette on Gem
Street in the afternoon when a man in a black, four-door vehicle approached
the child, opened the driver's-side door and told him to, "Get in the car."
However, when the boy's older brother saw what happened, he yelled for him
to get home, investigators said.
The man fled in the vehicle as the brother ran home to tell his mother, who
called the Sheriff's Office.
The driver was only described as a Caucasian man.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at
504-271-2501 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
